Basics to Ancestry.com
Bring a notebook for notes.
You don't have to be a genealogist to work in ancestry. A few things to get started:
Collect as many names as you can. Try to get as much information on a person like date of birth, date of death, church info, parent name.
Choose one person to start your search on and when you find as much information as you can, then start with another person.
Census records are a good place to start. These records will give you information like year of birth, age , siblings, children, etc.
Then just have fun!
